Life is in colours, yet some of the most iconic images in the history of photography are in black and white. From Henri Cartier Bresson's iconic street photography to the contemporary photojournalism of Sebastião Salgado, the black and white effect has long been the favourite of many professionals and lovers of photography.

13 The Gallery is pleased to introduce its first Sunday Photography Course “Learn to see in Mono!” Over the total length of 6 weeks, with Alejandro Gortazar's experience, knowledge and passion for photography, you will gain a valuable insight into the fascinating world of black and white photography.

The course will run for a total of 6 weeks (1.5hrs per week – Sunday 13.30- 15.00)

Starting date: 11th May 2014

Finishing date: 15th June 2014

Price: £180

Maximum number of participants: 10

Tutor: Alejandro Gortazar

Requirements: Candidates need their own camera and Black&White film; for a small fee and a refundable deposit candidates can also use one of Alejandro’s private camera collection. A tripod is desirable. Lighting equipment is provided for studio work.
