Drawn Together at the Riverside Gallery, Richmond

KAOS (Kingston Artists Open Studios) is a voluntary group set up and run by local artists to promote the visual arts in Kingston upon Thames. The group was started in 2010 and is open to artists, sculptors, ceramicists and other crafts people living or working in or around Kingston. At present there are about fifty artists within the group.

KAOS is currently self-funded, aiming both to raise the profile of art in the community and sell artwork. It is completely reliant on volunteers but has already made a mark on the visual arts in Kingston. KAOS has curated a number of successful exhibitions, including Kingston Market House, Southfields Gallery, Denby’s Wine Estate Gallery, Gallery 63a, The Canbury Arms, The Fountain Gallery and The Riverhouse Barn Gallery. Also, some of our members have exhibited in a number of prestigious galleries, and in 2014, will be exhibiting at the Light Box in Woking and as an art exchange in Oldenburg in Germany.

Exhibition organiser Buffy Kimm stated: “We are fortunate to be exhibiting at the Riverside Gallery. The title of our exhibition is Drawn Together, inspired by our belief that drawing underpins all art practice. The mixed media work we will be exhibiting will not necessarily be drawing in the conventional sense, but will show drawing as part of the art process.”
