About

This workshop is now fully booked. Please email Nicola Pomery to be added to the waiting list: nicola@parasol-unit.org Suitable for 5 — 15 year olds Exploring the idea of layering participants will use a variety of different colour tissue papers, transparencies, inks and card to create their animations. The final animations will be a wonderful juxtaposition of characters and scenery creating a palimpsest of stories fading and appearing over time. At the end of the session there will be a screening of all the animations made during the workshop for all to see. Lightbox Cinema is a London based initiative set up by Laura Kloss to teach and inspire children about cinema heritage. Through creative and interactive workshops children get to learn about cinematic treasures and film making techniques from the past. In an age where digital mediums are taking over we look back at silent cinema, 16mm film, magic lanterns, and the play of light and shadow in fun, innovative ways. Please note: unfortunately due to the installation of this exhibition, this event does not have wheelchair access.
