Tjibbe Hooghiemstra

The forthcoming exhibition at Oriel Q – Queens Hall Gallery features Dutch artist Tjibbe Hooghiemstra and Welsh artists Julia Griffiths Jones and Steven Irwin.

Tjibbe presents paintings and works on paper around the theme of Sandy Island. The work questions the idea of nature in relation to the island and notions of visibility and invisibility.

In Oriel Fach, Julia Griffiths Jones takes over the space with an installation in her preferred medium of wire, shaped into a suspended view of a room that cleverly explores the notion of illusion and debates such as the ‘feminine’ and fine art and craft.

Meanwhile, Steven Irwin showcases photomontages that are inspired by Dylan Thomas’ lyrical subjects and rich visual metaphors.

Three quality exhibitions not to be missed! Admission free.
