Rebecca McLynn & Richard Fox On show at Sarah Wiseman Gallery is acclaimed landscape painter Rebecca McLynn, whose large, atmospheric paintings take their inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of northern Europe; the Western Highlands and Islands, Ireland's Atlantic coast, as well as California's Big Sur. She begins each painting with a landscape element drawn from her location sketches, before pouring and veiling paint, allowing the viewer to contemplate their own reminisces of landscapes visited. Richard Fox's stunning new blue alabaster sculptures are an exciting development in his work. Using the materials veins and fault-lines, Richard has created a body of work that is an exploration of surface, contrasted with rough textured edges, and semi-translucent ripples through the stone.
