About

Renowned Arts and Crafts Designer Ian Hamerton will talk about the life and work of William Arthur Smith Benson (1854-1924) who was one of the most important Arts and Crafts designers. Greatly influenced by Edward Burne-Jones, he was friendly with William Morris and Baillie Scott. Benson specialised in metalware with a focus on lighting. The Lightbox hosts a series of lunchtime and evening talks on a range of subjects. Advance booking required. Talks last for approximately 45 minutes with a short time for questions. Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the evening talks. Wine and juice are available to purchase at evening talks. Friends of The Lightbox and members of the Supporters' Club enjoy a 40%discount (excludes Director's Choice talks). Thurs 20 February, 1.00pm £6 adults, £5 concessions
