10:00 - 5:00 Tue-Sat, closed lunch 1:15-2:15
Victoria Crowe OBE celebrates 40 years as one of Scotland’s leading figurative painters with a magnificent solo show at Bohun Gallery, Henley on Thames in October 2013.
Described as one of the most original and thought-provoking painters working today, Victoria Crowe works in both Scotland and Venice. Painting in oils, water-based media, collage and printmaking, her complex imagery is hard to categorise although inspired in the great part by Nature and Italian Art. Bohun Gallery’s exhibition, which reflects on Crowe’s highly successful career, features still life, interiors and landscape. The collection of work illustrates not only the rich and varied output by the artist, but examines her artistic practises and seeks to offer a glimpse into her working methods. The exhibition draws together not only significant canvases, but also exquisite pencil studies, intricate watercolours, screen prints and the artist’s own sketchbooks which offer an enviable opportunity for collectors.
