Planites investigates human movements through the urban labyrinth using the body and spirit of the streets as raw material. The company looks at the paths available in today’s ever-evolving social and economic landscapes from the point of view of the migrants moving from town to town, whether by choice or by force.
This high energy hip-hop fusion piece showcases the impressive skills of five talented dancers whilst dealing with an important subject matter with great integrity and wit. A very physical piece that will leave you questioning concepts of migration, immigration, integration and wandering.
Planites is the latest work by Greek choreographer Patricia Apergi and her company Aerites last seen at The Place as p art of Aerowaves in 2011. Patricia’s choreography is inspired by street culture and everyday life, mixing dynamism of movement with sharp humour.
