Felix Anaut: Colour Compositions
Felix Anaut returns to the gallery with a new series of abstract expressionist "Visual Music" paintings and ceramics.
The works contain repeated symbols, lines and colours which are both immediately familiar and excting.
The works are intermezzos, nocturnes and harmonies - suggesting the music that Felix Anaut wants us to see (and hear).
There is always a dynamic in each painting (or ceramic work), a movement as with the flow of notes on a page each work generating its own rhythm.
The earthenware vessels in the exhibtion have been created in conjunction with Ceramicas Abio in Spain. For the last few years, Felix has taken a studio in Huesca, specifically to work on these pieces, which also includes chargers and a dinner service - all hand painted by Felix Anaut onto the ceramic forms created by Raimondo Abio.
Some of these pieces also feature in the book on Felix Anaut's life and work written by the European art collector, Michael Simonow.

In December 2003 Felix was awarded the "Career Recognition" award at the Florence Biennale 2003. in 2005 Felix Anaut was been listed by the Spanish national newspaper, El Mundo, in their annual year review as one of the most influential personalities in the Arts, 2005-2006.
