Objects are never just that – they are a reflection of their surrounding. They come to life through their owners and assume whatever narrative the viewer reflects on them. They don’t speak to us but they do speak for us. Focusing on the life of the object, Maria Jose Chica and Zac T Lee play with man’s other best friend: plants. Ubiquitous, discrete, alive, plants make contemporary life, which can feel segregated and sterile, a little more tangible.
