Articulation 3: Richard Wilson - 'Not by Half'
Working in partnership with NN Gallery, we are pleased to announce that a new series of artists’ talks in the Articulation series will start with sculptor Richard Wilson on 12 March. Other speakers include Rachel Anderson of Artangel (19th March) and Alec Finlay (30th April).
The series is directed and chaired by John Harper, Associate Fellow in Fine Art, and takes as its theme alternative ways that art reaches the public outside of the gallery system.
As usual the talks will take place in the Main Hall at the University of Northampton’s Avenue Campus from 6.30pm-8pm, and will be free to University of Northampton students and staff, £4/£2.50 concessions to others. Contact Suzanne Stenning on 01604 893050 or email gallery@northampton.ac.uk to reserve a place.

'Not By Half '
Sculptor Richard Wilson, probably best known for his large-scale architectural interventions, will be talking about how his work has progressed from ‘20:50’, his infamous room full of oil for the Saatchi Gallery in 1987, to his most recent installation ‘Hang on a Minute Lads ...’ which involved balancing a bus on the roof of the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill on Sea.
“My fascination with architectural and perceived space has resulted in a 30+ year body of work where our comprehension of space is questioned and subverted. These interventions are characterized by my concerns with size and structural daring” (Richard Wilson)
