Friday Lunchtime Talks

Back for 2013 our regular series of lunchtime talks will take place on the first Friday of every month during school term time. For dates and details of future talks please see our website www.scarboroughmuseumstrust.org.uk.
The first talk will take place on Friday 1 March and will be given by Daniel Robbins, Senior Curator at Leighton House Museum, titled Between Life and Death: Leighton and Clytie.
At the time of Leighton's death, Clytie remained unfinished in his studio. This talk explores the background to this final work. What were the circumstances in which it was painted and who was the model Leighton used? Painted as his health began to fail, why did this subject seem to mean so much to him?
Booking is recommended for all talks by ringing the Art Gallery on 01723 374753. The actual talk is free, although normal Gallery admission charges apply.
