Land and Sea: Paintings of the earths soul
Michael Sole is known for his physical techniques and contemporary approach to the traditional. Vibrant, emotive paintings come out of his studio every year. This is an exhibition of large and small works that use scale of composition and application of the medium to allow the viewer to breathe the landscapes. Bright colours and thick paint are reminisent of Van Gogh, whilst the physicality of the works is equal to that of Jackson Pollock if in more genteel romantic infatuation with brush and paint.
