Taking inspiration from the elemental forces in nature and the landscape, Surridge creates paintings by hurling and pouring carborundum, paint and pigment onto canvas. The work is almost sculptural with broad brush work and thick impasto paint. Dynamic movement, enigmatic shapes and painterly forms lend the work a lyrical quality that reflects the play of light on water.
Surridge has exhibited nationally including Tate St Ives and has works in private collections in Europe and the USA.
